Minecraft / Minecraft - Server information

> Minecraft server information
The International Gaming Community is expanding to other games to attract new players. This will make the community stronger and more diverse. In 2019, IGC officially launched its first Minecraft server. A new place for players to hang out, to explore enormous dimensions and to build whatever they want. Even though the server is based on survival gameplay, it still offers several useful RP-like functions.

> Group Reviews & Recommendations
Official Groups will be reviewed according to the following criteria.

> Offical Group Reviews
Official groups must upkeep their activity and quality and therefore groups shall be under constant review. The IGC Group Managers will review Official Groups once a month. Reviews are based on: professionalism, general behavior, group activity, punishments, contribution to the community, leadingship, recruitment, and forum activity.

  • Official groups must follow the group guidelines.
If an official group refuses to follow the rules, then it will be demoted or even lose its official status.
  • Official groups must be active.
Official groups should be able to operate daily, unless its activity is related to the server activity.
  • Official groups must act professional.
Professionalism is a very important requirement for maintaining Official status. Official Groups must work hard to improve their quality and gameplay. They must be a true example for other community members and should not break rules.
  • Official groups must contribute to the community.
Official Groups must contribute to the community in every possible (and positive!) way. Think about helping new players, bug reports, server suggestions, increasing the amount of community members, teamwork, etc.

> Official Groups Recommendations
  • Only Junior Community Members and Group Managers can recommend groups for Official status.
Official Groups are asked or recommended for official status by one of the group managers. JCM+ members are allowed to recommend groups. Do not ask for official status.
  • IGC Group Managers reserve the right to not give official status to groups.
Groups will receive official status if the group managers believe they deserve to become official. Recommendations with possitive votes are no guarantee for instant Official status
  • Groups can be recommended once per month.
If a recommendation for Official status is denied, you have to wait for another month.
  • Only non-members can recommend a group for Official status.
It is now allowed to recommend your own group for Official status.
  • Every IGC player can state his/her opinion.
All IGC players are allowed to post their opinion when a recommendation has been posted.

Minecraft / Job system added (beta) and balance reset
« on: February 19, 2019, 06:02:32 am »

Job system added and balance reset

Today we added the Jobs Reform plugin to the server, which makes it possible to do several jobs and earn an income. This is the first step in creating a balanced and stable Minecraft economy.

How does it work?
You can choose between several sorts of jobs. Every job as its own task, like mining, digging, crafting etc. You'll receive money based on your level. You level up by gaining XP, which you receive while doing your job. The higher your job level, the more you will earn.

Which jobs can I choose?
- Brewer
- Builder
- Crafter
- Digger
- Enchanter
- Explorer
- Farmer
- Fisherman
- Hunter
- Miner
- Weaponsmith
- Woodcutter (bugged)

How can I join a job?
Simply type /jobs join [jobname] (i.e. /jobs join miner). If you need more information about the jobs available, type /jobs browse. A window will open that contains information about the jobs and their tasks.

How much will I earn?
You'll start from the bottom. If you start a job, you'll receive a low salary, like $1 per cobblestone. Once you'll level up, your salary will increase, according to your level. Note: Some jobs give higher payments if you make or collect things that are more rare. If you are a miner for example, you will receive more money if you mine iron than if you mine cobblestone.

Balance reset

The job system will form the economy of the server. The plugin creates balanced payments by itself. The payments, however, are way lower than we are used to. That is why we were forced to do some changes, especially because some players manged to earn a lot of money by using smart tricks to some sort of exploit the admin store. To create a fair and balanced environment for all players, we did a balance reset last night. Every player has a balance of $500 and some of the old players will get a small bonus for their effort and loyalty.

The Landfill / Proposal regarding the group system
« on: April 04, 2018, 07:17:26 am »
Dear members of the International Gaming Community,

In the past weeks there have been many discussions between representatives of the law and criminal sides about the perks and privileges of every side. Some of these discussions led to endless debates and accuses that nearly led to fights, even within the staff team.

Yesterday, the founders of this server decided to disable the group system for one week. One of the main reasons was to show the players how IGC life is like without any groups or group perks. I am sure that this decision has led to a wake up call for many players and that is why I am proposing the following:

- Some of the discussions were about removing perks from the law or criminal sides, while most of these perks weren't a real part of the problem. The main problem is the relation between both sides. Lately it seemed like the main goal was to attack the other side instead of creating balance. We must stop this and try to improve connections. This is a game, this is our community, and we should have fun, together!
- We should have weekly meetings about between representatives of every side so we can discuss about the problems we're facing. The main goal of the meetings is to create consensus and to improve the relation between every side. Because after all, if one side falls apart it will effect the community as a whole.
- We should try to host events and activities at least once a week. Think about raids, races, trainings, turf wars, etc. This way we will start having fun together.

As a main representative of the law side, I try to make every side equal to prevent any side being overpowered. However, based on the way we organized the server, we cannot make every side totally equal. However, I do believe we can give sides some extra perks to create more balance. As I said many times, it is not my goal to nerf criminal/civilian side, it is my goal to let players have fun, to give groups the opportunity to grow and develop. I do believe we, as Head Staff, have failed to represent every single player and to provide a nice environment to play in. I do take my responsibility for what happened and I do hope that the other Head Staff ( @Adeeb , @NizwaFTW ) are willing to admit the mistakes made by us, as a team, as well.

From this moment, I want to be nothing else but optimistic about the future. We are going to have fun again. As the leader of the law side, I'd like to propose the following to bring back the balance:

Criminal side
I am saying this for a long time, criminal side has two disadvantages:

  • Being underpaid for having a risky job. If a criminal gets arrested or killed, he/she has to spend time in jail. That is why criminals should earn some more money than cops, because cops are able to respawn right after they died
  • Decrease jailtime. I do not see any purpose in criminals being jailed for a long time. I think the maximum jailtime should be 7-8 minutes.

Law side

  • The tazer is meant to arrest criminals with a night stick, not to slow down and kill him while he is laying on the ground. Criminals should not take damage while being tazed (laying down animation)

And last but not least, my main proposal:
Bring back the group system, so we can try to improve every single sides by increasing cooperation.

The Landfill / Bug rewards
« on: June 11, 2017, 07:14:23 pm »
Dear bug testers

Every single day, we are working hard to improve the server, trying to make IGC a great place to play. That's why we are looking for testers who are willing to help us to find bugs. Testers receive a compensation of 5K for every bug they find.

How can I become a tester?
Everyone can become a member. The only thing you have to do is to report the bugs you find in our Quality Assurance Board. Do not forget to write your account name on your bug report, else we cannot send you the compensation.

How do I get my compensation?
Send an in-game text message to Glenno, LilDolla or Emile. If your forum nickname is different than your in-game name, you should include your forum nickname in your text message too.

Rules
- Do not ask/tell staff members to come in game.
- Do not spam staff members.
- Be patient, you'll get your money soon or later.
