My current opinion on politics is that we're slowly descending into a global economic crisis. I feel like every major economic/geo-political power ( USA, China, Russia etc.) shall enter into a turf war for the resources of the Middle East in order to achieve maximum profit for national corporations while exploiting people just to achieve maximum monetary effect. Capitalism is cruel but Communism doesn't really work either does it?

But, what do you think, where do we lead ourselves?

I believe that the western countries are the arsenal of democracy and world peace. China is hugely developing but as long as they maintain a corrupt system in which civil, political and economic rights are suppresses, they won't stand long. The Chinese people are intelligent people and every year they live in greater prosperity. As long as their economy is growing, the citizens of China will start to desire for better working conditions, better healthcare, more education and, most important, more freedom. I do believe that China is on the edge of a civil war between people who strive for freedom like a free market, political, economical and individual freedom AND the communist political elite whose role is crumbling. I think the only reason why China became an economic power is because we allowed our companies to enter their market and allow them to produce in the far east of Asia while giving shit about working conditions and environmental regulations.

I partly agree with you Glenno with that Chinese example you showed but I'll have to disagree with your first claim where you say that western societies are the arsenal of democracy and peace. Democracy is just like Communism, good on paper, bad in practice. To be honest, most of conflicts are caused by us western Europeans like EU,USA,NATO etc. Also, big European forces caused stuff like colonialism and many terrible things happened to the local, underdeveloped economies which were tortured and exploited to death. But in other news, I also think we as Westerns are allowing Asian and African economies with our very, very lenient immigration policies. Not being racist, as I myself am a son of an immigrant family, I believe that the EU is very lenient to immigrants. Countries like yours, Glenno, the Netherlands have had problems with immigrants from Asia because they need special treatment such as hospitals, refuges, mosques and general benefits which aren't granted to native Dutch people. But I'd like your opinion on this, @Glenno

I do agree that the western world made horrible mistakes in the past, like colonalization. However, that is something that happened in the past and the so-called third world countries are completely independent and have received and still receive funds from western countries to develop. However, these countries didn't have much experience with democratic governments and free civil societies. As you see in a lot of third world countries, religious and/or authoritarian political movements are rising and are a real threat to the regional stability. It is up to the western world to show the people of the third world countries that freedom is a primary need and no government should affect it.

I also agree about the lenient European immigration policies. Europe is still recovering from the financial crisis of 2008 and I believe that a government should take care of its own people first, before they start caring for others. The European countries took in a lot of immigrants/refugees, while a lot of natives were still unemployed and/or in huge debt. The Europeans were very discontent with this and that is one of the main reasons why populist parties are uprising.

Europe received a ton of immigrants from countries known for cheap workforce like China,India,Bangladesh,Turkey and some from Central Asia which really made governments invest to the prosperity of those people instead of the troubled natives (after the 2008 crisis as you mentioned). For example, my country of origin, Bulgaria has almost 13% of its population made of Turkish,Indians,Pakistani and Chinese. In the city centre of Sofia, our capital, you can find shops (illegal and non-tax paying of course..) which are owned by foreign people like Turks and Asians who have employees from these countries leaving Bulgarians at a 5% unemployment rate and a massive population loss since the fall of the socialist regime in Bulgaria (almost 3 million Bulgarians have left the country for other, more developed nordic countries!). I think Bulgaria has become more of a puppet/bridge nation ever since the Communist regime fell and we joined the EU and NATO. Knowing your ideologies, I won't start explaining why I believe that my country is made for such a regime (socialist/communist). Another thing I didn't mention, colonisation was  some sort of natural selection. Africa,Asia,Latin America etc. were all continents with MANY MANY MANY more resources such as oil, minerals, timber etc. but then the poor continent of Europe was the one who just didnt fight to survive, but it fought to discover, improvise and explore. That's why the western Europeans took over the poorly armed Africans/Asians/Americans with their gun powder, grenades, ships, vehicles etc. I'd like to further talk about this if you'd like, @Glenno
